At our lovely Rockland County Yoga Studio, we offer a variety of classes to suit different students' needs and requests.  If you have a specific type of class you are interested in, but is not currently on our Willow Tree Yoga calendar, please let us know and we'd be happy to consider adding a new class to our weekly calendar!

Suitable for all levels of practitioners, these classes follow basic Hatha Yoga practices.   Hatha Yoga is the foundation from which all other forms of yoga have evolved.  You will work through a variety of asana (poses), sometimes holding and sometimes flowing.  All classes end with Savasana, the final relaxation, where you shift down to slower brain waves, helping to relieve stress while your body & mind integrate the work done in class and take you into a state of deep restoration & peace.  Poses will be presented with a choice of variations to suit the needs of the beginner as well as the advanced yogi.  All are welcome!

Evening Yoga is a Mixed Level Yoga class, but since it is offered at night, there is more focus on relaxing & stress release, rather than energizing & awakening the body.  All are welcome.

Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement" and Vinyasa yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. In this energizing class, you will be challenged through a combination of powerful vinyasa flows mixed with work on some advanced poses that will build the heat and power within you, both in body and mind.  All levels are welcome but this class is best suited for Intermediate to Advanced practitioners.

Stretch & Flow is gentle class that incorporates an ebb and flow of deep stretching blended with traditional yoga poses.  Basic poses and breathing techniques will be explored as students gently strengthen their muscles and become more flexible. New students will build confidence & familiarity while more experienced students will focus on alignment & deepening their practice.  All are welcome!

Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® is called the Yoga of Awareness. It is a dynamic, powerful tool that is designed to give you an experience of your soul.  This practice is very different from the other, traditional Hatha Yoga based classes that we offer at Willow Tree Yoga.

In Kundalini Yoga we harness the mental, physical, and nervous energies of the body and put them under the domain of the will, which is the instrument of the soul. This technology precisely and consciously combines breath, mudra, eye-focus, mantra, body locks, and postures to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity, and purify the blood. It brings balance to the body, mind, and soul.

Studies are showing more and more how vital the practice of stretching is to our overall health and wellbeing.  In this class that is done mostly while seated on chairs, you will learn how to deeply and safely stretch out those tight and tense muscles that cause pain in our necks, shoulders, backs and hips, while allowing us to release tension & stress through proper breathing.  This class is ideal for Athletes, Seniors, Pregnant women and anyone with injuries that prevent sitting on the floor.  Regular stretching will enhance your yoga practice if you have one, but is also great for those who have never tried, don't like, or don't think they can do regular Yoga.

Tuesdays, 6:00 - 7:00 pm

Restorative yoga is a practice of slowing down and restoring balance in mind and body, as you open up tightly held areas through passive, long held poses. Using the support of props such as bolsters, blocks, cushions and blankets, these poses are designed to create supported stretching and release as you are given time and support to fully let go of things your body has been holding that you might not even have been aware of. In a restorative class, you may hardly move at all, settling into a restorative pose and relaxing into it for anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes, before re-adjusting the props and settling in to another pose.  It is a completely different experience than a regular yoga class.  This is a great complimentary practice that is suitable fo ALL levels and abilities.

We offer Restorative Yoga once a month, usually on a Sunday afternoon.  Class maximum is 12 people so reserve your spot in advance!

Join us for Meditation practice in our serene, beautiful and very private studio.  At each session, several different yoga techniques and styles will be explored. Chairs and cushions will be available.  Experience not necessary.  All are welcome.

Check calendar for each month's meditation offerings, as times and days change month to month.
