Our Teachers

With over 50 years of combined teaching experience, all the instructors at Willow Tree Yoga are highly trained and certified yoga teachers, registered with National Yoga Alliance.  All of our teachers are able to teach to all levels of students, including children, seniors and women who are in any stage of pregnancy. They are all skilled at making adjustments and modifications as needed, in order to ensure the utmost safety of everyone in their class.

Beatrice B. Mattaway

Beatrice, E-RYT 500, YACEP, is the founder and owner of Willow Tree Yoga. She received her 200 and 500-hour Yoga Alliance certification through Yoga Mountain in New City and is a certified Breast Cancer Recovery & Beyond yoga teacher.  Beatrice took her first yoga class and began meditating when she was 6 years old, living in Japan. She spent two years living in an ashram in India, where she practiced yoga, meditation and chanting daily. Beatrice encourages her students to deeply experience the poses by taking time to see how the mind and the body responds to the work done in class. Her classes are always fun and relaxed, allowing her students, from advanced to absolute beginners, to feel totally welcomed and safe to explore yoga in a very personal way. Class intensity varies depending on the experience & ability level of students in any given class.

Fiona Wiley

Fiona, RYT 200, first began practicing in 2014 with her soccer trainer who was certified in teaching sports yoga. After continuing her growth as a student at a local Kripalu studio in Ossining, NY and SUNY Plattsburgh classes, in 2018, Fiona began studying at Ohra Yoga in Mount Kisco, NY and completed her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification. During 2020, Fiona continued her education in Vinyasa, Reusi Dat Ton Thai Yoga and guided meditations. Her classes focus on optimizing the human body, incorporating injury prevention transitions, and elements of taoist philosophy. Fiona continues to develop helpful techniques for her students and train with the best yoga instructors in New York.


Jenny Papo

Jenny, RYT 200, began practicing Yoga in 2018, after completing a Beginners Yoga course at the Sivananda Vedanta Center in NYC. She has since completed her first 200-Hr Certification with Lila Flow in 2020 and a 25-Hr Yoga and Social Justice Training with Shanna Small in 2021. Driven by her passion for anatomy and functional movement, Jenny also completed her first Pilates Mat certification in 2021.

Jenny has found joy and peace through her yoga practice, and she wants to provide that experience for her students. Jenny's classes are creative and lighthearted, with the mission of creating a safe space for her students to find comfort within their own bodies and minds.  

Meredith LeJeune

RYT-200, Meredith says:  "Yoga was my last resort. Anxiety and stress was eating away at me. When I was practicing yoga, I was able to connect with God and reconnect with myself. I wanted to share that feeling with the world, so I became a certified yoga instructor.


I enjoy teaching a free-loving vinyasa flow. I received my 200 hour YA certification from the Jamie Surya Yoga Studio in Sparkill, NY.  I am inspired by my teacher, Jamie Surya, as well as other rock stars in the industry, including Faith Hunter and Jessamyn Stanley."

Erina Naemit

Erina Naemit is an RYT-500 who began her yoga journey over fourteen years ago. Feeling the serenity and strength yoga provided her she fell in love with the transformative and healing aspects. Her strong desire and passion prompted her to want to share this with others. Erina went on to study vinyasa and multiple styles of yoga with Joyful Yoga,Yoga Mountain, and most recently High Energy Fusion Yoga

Continuing to remain devoted to helping and healing others Erina is currently working on her Health Coach and Nutrition Certification through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition while working as an Ultrasound Technician. 


Yoga has given Erina the tools to find herself and she wants to provide that experience for her students. Her classes offer an all levels vibrant, fun and energetic practice with a concentration on alignment and creating a supportive environment while focusing on tapping into the expanding and everlasting potential of the soul.

Yael/Saraswati Amrita

ERYT 200/RYT 500, IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist

Yael (Saraswati Amrita) Sunshine is a Yoga Therapist( C-IAYT) and Kundalini Yoga Teacher (KRI-1). She loves Kundalini because it helps people access a powerful source that lies with in them; one that is calm, creative, compassionate, courageous and clear.


Yael has experienced the effectiveness of Kundalini practice in bringing about personal growth and transformation. She wants to share this technology so people can live their most healthy and joyful lives.

Besides her work as a Kundalini Yoga teacher, Yael is a Special Educator and Parent Coach.

Suzanne Joyce

Suzanne, iRest® Level 2 Teacher, RYT 500, first began practicing yoga in 2001. Desiring to deepen her practice, she began studying Vedantic philosophy classes at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center. She continued asana classes, studied Sanskrit and volunteered as a karma yogi. She has visited Sivananda ashrams in the US, Canada, and India. In 2013 she completed her 200 hour certification with Sivananda, primarily to deepen her own practice and then completed her 500 hour certification with Yoga Mountain.  During her teacher training Suzanne discovered a desire to inspire others in their practice of yoga.  Suzanne continued her training, with iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher Training Level II in 2015.
